Ali is the friend of Allah’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad’ (‘O Allah! Bless Muhammad’ in Arabic), followed by the names of the twelve Shiʿa imams. Rev. Within a central circle, ‘bi madīnat Naysābūr’ (‘In the city of Nishapur’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘ḍuriba fī shuhūr sana thalāth wa sittīn wa sabʿa miʾa’ (‘Struck in the months of the year 763’ in Arabic), all in an octofoil.
